After David kill Goliath, King Saul make him the big man for his army. David win plenty war, and it make him really popular. Any time David come from fighting war, the women dem will be dancing and singing: ‘Saul na kill thousands, and David na kill tens of thousands!’ Saul wor jealous of David and wanted to kill him.

David use to play the harp good. One day, when David wor playing the harp for Saul, Saul hurl his spear and chunk David with it. David dodge it, and the spear go straight in the wall. After that, Saul try plenty different-different times to kill David. After some time, David run away in the desert and hide hisself there.

Saul take 3,000 men from the army to go look for David. He enter the cave that David and his men dem wor hiding in without him knowing it. David men dem started telling him: ‘That the right time here to kill Saul.’ David walk slow-slow to Saul and cut piece of his clothes. And Saul not notice it. But, David wor feeling too bad because he not show respect to the king Jehovah anoint. He not allow his men dem to attack Saul. David even call Saul and tell him that he wor having the chance to kill him but he not do it. You think Saul will change his mind about David?

No. Saul continue looking for David to kill him. One night, David and his nephew Abishai creep and enter Saul camp. Even Saul bodyguard they call Abner wor sleeping. Then Abishai say: ‘That the right time here to kill him! Let me kill him.’ But David tell him say: ‘Jehovah will deal with Saul. Let just take his spear and his water jar and go.’

David climb on one mountain that wor near Saul camp. Then he shout and say: ‘Abner, why you not protect your king? Where place Saul water jar and spear eh?’ Saul knew that it wor David who wor talking. Then Saul say: ‘You wor having the chance to kill me, but you not do it. Now, I know that you will be the next king for Israel.’ Saul go back to his palace. But that not everybody in Saul family use to hate David.
