22 When they went up into the Negʹeb, they came to Hebʹron,+ where A·hiʹman, Sheʹshai, and Talʹmai,+ the Anʹa·kim,+ were living. Incidentally, Hebʹron had been built seven years before Zoʹan of Egypt.
3 So A·doʹni-zeʹdek king of Jerusalem sent this message to Hoʹham king of Hebʹron,+ Piʹram king of Jarʹmuth, Ja·phiʹa king of Laʹchish, and Deʹbir king of Egʹlon:+4 “Come to my aid, and let us attack Gibʹe·on, because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”+
13 And to Caʹleb+ the son of Je·phunʹneh, he gave a share among the descendants of Judah at the order of Jehovah to Joshua, namely, Kirʹi·ath-arʹba (Arʹba was the father of Aʹnak), that is, Hebʹron.+
