15 min: Prepare to Offer Greatest Man—On DVD and Teacher—On DVD. Discussion. The offer is Greatest Man—On DVD. If individuals say that they have children, offer Teacher—On DVD. Take one to two minutes to highlight a point or two of interest from one of the publications. Then consider how they could be presented. Do this by inviting the audience to give suggestions on an interest-arousing question and then asking for suggestions on a scripture to show. Demonstrate how one or two suggestions may be used. The following presentations may be used:
[Greatest Man] “Many have wondered what Jesus was like when he lived as a man on this earth. In what ways do you think he was different from others? [Allow for reply.] This fascinating publication, The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived—On DVD, relates the highlights of his life and ministry and it provides insight into the kind of man he was. After watching it, some feel as though they have had an opportunity to associate with him personally, share his sufferings, and observe his ministry firsthand. I would like to show you Jesus’ warm invitation to learn from him. Please note the benefits that he promises.” Show Matthew 11:28, 29. If there is good response, offer the DVD.
[Teacher] “Local book stores tend to have a section full of children’s books. But hardly ever, if at all, can you find a DVD in ASL for children. We have such a DVD that has been specially designed with children in mind. [Show Teacher—On DVD to the householder.] This publication relates accounts of Jesus’ life here on earth and makes practical application for children, all directly in ASL.” Explain some of the publication’s different features, such as the interactive questions parents can use and the many pictures included within the stories.
