36 And you will offer the bull of the sin offering daily for an atonement,+ and you must purify the altar from sin by your making atonement over it, and you must anoint+ it to sanctify it.

11 For the soul of the flesh is in the blood,+ and I myself have put it upon the altar for YOU to make atonement+ for YOUR souls, because it is the blood+ that makes atonement+ by the soul [in it].*

17 Consequently he was obliged to become like his “brothers” in all respects,+ that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest* in things pertaining to God,+ in order to offer propitiatory+ sacrifice* for the sins of the people.+
