22 When they went up into the Negʹeb,+ they then came to Heʹbron.+ Now A·hiʹman, Sheʹshai and Talʹmai,+ those born of Aʹnak,*+ were there. Incidentally, Heʹbron+ had been built seven years before Zoʹan+ of Egypt.

28 Nevertheless, the facts are that the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the fortified cities are very great;+ and, too, those born of Aʹnak we saw there.+

33 And there we saw the Nephʹi·lim, the sons of Aʹnak,+ who are from the Nephʹi·lim; so that we became in our own eyes like grasshoppers, and the same way we became in their eyes.”+

28 Where are we going up? Our brothers have caused our heart to melt,+ saying: “A people greater and taller than we are,+ cities great and fortified to the heavens+ and also the sons of the Anʹa·kim+ we saw there.”’

2 a people great and tall, the sons of Anʹa·kim,+ about whom you yourself have known and you yourself have heard it said, ‘Who can make a firm stand before the sons of Aʹnak?’
