LIVING AS CHRISTIANS

Song 38

7. Our Only Reliable Source of Help

(7 min.) Discussion.

When we experience problems, the only completely reliable Source of help is our God, Jehovah.—Heb 13:5, 6.

Read Psalm 55:22. Then discuss the following situations with the audience.

Collage: Brothers and sisters facing trials. 1. A downhearted brother sits outside on a set of stairs after he loses his job. 2. An imprisoned brother is interrogated by an officer. 3. A sister at a hospital prays silently at her sick husband’s bedside. 4. A couple in distress after surviving a natural disaster.

For each situation, write down one way to demonstrate trust in Jehovah and one way that he sustains us.

  • We lose our job or struggle to support our family financially

  • The authorities restrict our activity

  • We experience serious health problems

  • We experience a tragedy, such as a natural disaster or the death of a loved one
