7. Benefit From the Most Important Day of the Year
(15 min.) Discussion.
Our attendance at the Memorial each year allows us to demonstrate our obedience to Jesus’ command and express our appreciation for Jehovah’s gift of the ransom. (Lu 22:19) However, it is also an occasion when we are reminded of how much Jehovah and his Son love us. (Ga 2:20; 1Jo 4:9, 10) How can we benefit fully from this provision from Jehovah? How can we help interested ones to do so?
Prepare by considering portions of the Memorial Bible reading each day
Meditate on the gift of the ransom and on how to live in a way that shows appreciation for it
Have a full share in the campaign by inviting acquaintances, relatives, and those from the territory to the special talk and the Memorial
Welcome visitors to the Memorial with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. While giving special attention to those you personally invited, be alert to help those who have responded to the invitation campaign, and invite them to sit with you
Be available to answer visitors’ questions
Be alert to welcome those who are inactive. Elders will especially be alert to welcome those who were once Jehovah’s Witnesses
Play the VIDEO Jesus “Came to Seek and to Save What Was Lost.” Then ask the audience:
What did you learn about the importance of warmly welcoming inactive ones to the Memorial?
