Bienvenidos a las Asambleas de Distrito “Portadores de Luz”
EN EL mismo primer día de la creación se produjo luz con relación a la Tierra. Leemos que Jehová Dios dijo: “Llegue a haber luz”. Y “entonces llegó a haber luz”. (Génesis 1:3.) Eso concuerda con lo que escribió el apóstol Juan: “Dios es luz y no hay oscuridad alguna en unión con él”. (1 Juan 1:5.)
Puesto que el Hijo de Dios está en unión con su Padre, no sorprende el que Jesús dijera en cierta ocasión: “Luz soy del mundo”. (Juan 9:5.) Podemos salir de la oscuridad y entrar en la luz mediante ejercer fe en Jehová Dios y en su Hijo. Jesús también testificó: “He venido como luz al mundo, para que todo el que pone fe en mí no permanezca en la oscuridad”. (Juan 12:46.) Es correcto, pues, que Jesucristo dijera de sus verdaderos seguidores: “Ustedes son la luz del mundo. [...] Resplandezca la luz de ustedes delante de los hombres, para que ellos vean sus obras excelentes y den gloria al Padre de ustedes que está en los cielos”. (Mateo 5:14, 16.)
¡Qué bendición es tener la verdad, el entendimiento de la Palabra de Dios como la aclara “el esclavo fiel y discreto”! (Mateo 24:45-47.) Ya no estamos en la confusión de creer en una Trinidad; no estamos perplejos en cuanto a por qué permite la iniquidad y la violencia un Dios que es todopoderoso y amoroso; ya no tenemos dudas en cuanto a la condición de los muertos. La luz nos ha dado esperanza, la esperanza del Reino. Nos ha revelado cuán maravilloso Dios es el Creador. La luz de la verdad nos ha dado propósito en la vida, para que cumplamos con el propósito para el cual originalmente se nos creó: glorificar a nuestro Hacedor, Jehová Dios. Haremos esto por ser portadores de la luz. El ser portadores de luz es un gran honor y privilegio, pero también es una responsabilidad seria. Para cumplir bien con esa obligación, tenemos que usar toda la ayuda que Jehová provee. Por eso, ¡qué apropiado es que las asambleas de distrito de 1992 se llamen Asambleas de Distrito “Portadores de Luz”!
Para mejorar tanto nuestras aptitudes como nuestro aprecio del papel que desempeñamos como portadores de luz, querremos asistir a por lo menos una de estas asambleas, sí, estar presentes desde el cántico de apertura hasta la oración de cierre. Y querremos prestar atención cuidadosa a todo lo que se diga desde la plataforma, sea que se presente en discursos, entrevistas, experiencias o un drama. El hacer apuntes no solo nos da algo a lo cual remitirnos después para refrescar la memoria; también nos ayuda mucho a concentrarnos en lo que se presenta. Sí, durante todo el programa de la asamblea querremos ‘prestar atención a cómo escuchamos’. (Lucas 8:18.)
