Jacob give Esau one bowl of soup to get his inheritance

LESSON 12

Yeekɔ E Keea Na Sɔɔlaitiɛ Maa Zɔlɔ-Woni

Isaac wor 40 years old when he marry Rebekah. And he love her very much. After some time, they born two boys and they wor twin.

The big brother name wor Esau and the small brother name wor Jacob. Esau use to like going out and he wor good hunter. But Jacob use to like staying home.

Way back, the first son use to get most of the land and the money when their pa die. And that it they can call inheritance. In Isaac family, the promise that Jehovah make to Abraham, wor also part of the inheritance. Esau wor not really having time for the promise dem Jehovah make. But Jacob knew that they wor really important.

One day, after Esau hunt for the whole day, when he came home he wor tire. Then he smell the food that Jacob wor cooking. Then he say: ‘I hungry bad way! Give me some of your soup!’ Jacob say: ‘I will give you, but before I give it to you, promise me that I will get your inheritance.’ Esau say: ‘I not care about my inheritance! You can take it. I just want eat.’ You think that wor wise thing for Esau to do? No. Esau gave something that wor really important just for one bowl of soup.

When Isaac wor old, it wor time for him to bless his first son. But Rebekah help Jacob the small brother to get the blessing. When Esau hear about it, he wor vex bad way, and he plan to kill his twin brother Jacob. Isaac and Rebekah wanted to protect Jacob, so they tell him say: ‘Go stay with your ma brother Laban, until Esau heart calm down.’ Jacob listen to his ma and pa advice and run for his life.

“What benefit somebody will get if they get the whole world but lose their life? Wetin somebody will really give to get his life back?”—Mark 8:36, 37
