LESSON 43

Faa Yowũi Masagi Deeve Kɛɛni

When Saul die, David became king. He wor 30 years old. After he rule as king for some years, one night while he wor standing on top of his palace roof, he see one beautiful woman. David find out that her name wor Bath-sheba and she wor marry to one soldier man name Uriah. David send for Bath-sheba to come to his palace. He lay down with her and she get pregnant. David try to hide the thing he do. So he tell his army general to put Uriah in front when they fighting and move from behind him. After Uriah die on the battle field, David marry Bath-sheba.

But Jehovah see all the bad thing dem that happen. So wetin he do? Jehovah send the prophet Nathan to David. Nathan tell David say: ‘One rich man wor having plenty sheep, and one poor man wor having only one baby sheep that he really love. The rich man take the poor man only sheep.’ David wor vex. Then he say: ‘That rich man suppose to die!’ Then Nathan tell David say: ‘That rich man that you!’ David wor feeling bad, so he confess to Nathan and say: ‘I na sin against Jehovah.’ This sin bring plenty trouble on David and his family. Jehovah punish David but allow him to live because he talk the true and he wor humble.

David wanted to build one temple for Jehovah, but Jehovah choose David son Solomon to build the temple. So David start putting some materials together for Solomon and he say: ‘Jehovah temple must be big and really fine. Solomon still small, but I will help him to prepare the thing dem he will use.’ David give plenty of his own money for the building work. He find people who really know the work. He pack gold, silver, and send for cedar wood from Tyre and Sidon. When David wor coming die, he give the temple drawing to Solomon. Then he say: ‘Jehovah help me to write this thing dem down for you. Jehovah will help you too. Don’t be scare. Be strong and do the work.’
