LESSON 59

Zunu Loma Naagɔitiɛ Te Goo-Mɛni Kuloni Jehova Ya

When Nebuchadnezzar carry the prince dem from Judah to Babylon, he tell one of his court official they call Ashpenaz to take care of them. Nebuchadnezzar tell Ashpenaz to look among the people and find young boys that wor healthy and clever more than all the other boys. Then they will train them for three years. The training will help them to be important people in Babylon. They will train them to read, write, and speak the Akkadian language that the people in Babylon use to speak. They also suppose to eat the same food the king and the big-big people in his government use to eat. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah wor among the people they choose. Ashpenaz give them new Babylonian name: Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. You think this training will make them to stop serving Jehovah?

The four boys wor determine to obey Jehovah. They knew that they not suppose to eat the king food because Jehovah Law say that some of it wor not clean. So they tell Ashpenaz say: ‘Please don’t make us to eat the same food the king can eat.’ But Ashpenaz say: ‘If yor not eat the same food the king can eat and he see yor looking sick, he will kill me!’

But Daniel wor having one plan. He tell the person that wor taking care of them say: ‘Please give us only vegetables and water for ten days. Then after the ten days, compare us with the other boys who eating the king food.’ So the person who wor taking care of them agree.

After the ten day finish, Daniel and his three friend dem wor looking healthy pass all the other boys. Jehovah wor happy with them because they obey him. He even give Daniel wisdom to understand visions and dreams.

When they finish training them, Ashpenaz carry them to king Nebuchadnezzar. After the king talk with them, he get to know that Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, wor clever pass all the other boys. So he choose four of them to work in his palace. Most of the time the king use to ask them for advice on important things. Jehovah made them to be clever more than all the king wise men dem and the people who use to play magic for the king.

Even though they wor in different country, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah not forget that they wor Jehovah people. You will always remember Jehovah even when your parents not with you?

“Never let anyone look down on your youth. Instead, become an example to the faithful ones in speaking, in conduct, in love, in faith, in chasteness.”—1 Timothy 4:12
