We not surprise when we see different-different sicknesses spreading. We know that these things them happening just how Jesus said it will happen. So we get good reason to follow the advice Jesus gave to those living during the time of the end: “See that you are not alarmed.”—Matt. 24:6.

5 When sickness breakout in our area, it can be easy for us to worry and be scare. That what happen to one sister name Desi.b After her uncle, cousin, and doctor die from COVID-19 she was scare, thinking that she was coming get the sickness and give it to her ma who was old. Because of the sickness, she worrying that she was coming lose her job. So she was thinking how she was coming buy food and pay her rent. She was worrying about these thing them so much that she never use to sleep in the night. But Desi stop worrying. Why? She pray for Jehovah to make her heart to lay down and to think on good-good things. (Read Philippians 4:8, 9.) She also listen to Jehovah ‘talking’ to her through the audio Bible reading. She say, “The way the brothers did the Bible reading make my heart to lay down and it make me to remember that Jehovah care for me.”—Ps. 94:19.
6. Ani da ɣɛna Gala Kɔlɔi maa wolizu ɓɔɔ yee-ma, diɛ li gaalɛ-baitiɛ zu da wulo su-nu-ma ɣɛ le?
6 When sickness breakout, it can be hard for us to do the thing them we use to do before, but we must not allow it to stop us from doing our personal study or going to meeting. The real-life experience them in our publications and videos will help you to remember that other brothers and sisters still faithful to Jehovah, even though they going through this same problem them. (1 Pet. 5:9) The meetings will help you to be thinking about good-good thing them. They will also give you opportunities to encourage other people and you yourself will be encourage too. 7. Zɛɓɛi da maa woli Jɔ̃ na po-kɔ̃ɔ-mai zu?
7 Always try to talk with your brothers and sisters. Some time when bad sickness break out, it can make it hard to come close to our brothers and sisters. When it happen like that, maybe you can be feeling the same way the apostle John was feeling. He wanted to see his friend Gaius face-to-face. (3 John 13, 14) But John knew that he will not be able to see Gaius for some time. So John did what he was able to do; he wrote letter to Gaius. If it not possible for you to visit your brothers and sisters in person, try to call them on the phone, do video calls, or sent them message. When you keep in touch with your brothers and sisters, you will not feel lonely and you will be having peace of mind. Always try to contact the elder them, especially when you really worrying, and listen to them when they encourage you.—Isa. 32:1, 2.
ZII-LAA MAA ZƆLƆWO ANI FAA ƁOEI ƔA LAANA E MA
8. Ani faa ɓoei ɣa laana de ma, towa faa vɛɛ ɣɛ le zii-lai va e de ya?
8 If you na suffer from flood, earthquake, or fire before, you can still be worrying after it happen. And If somebody die from you during this time or you loss your home and everything you get, it can really make you to grief, to feel like you not having hope, or even get vex. When you act like this, it not mean you love material things or you not get faith. The thing that happen to you was really bad, and some people know that it normal to feel like that. (Job 1:11) But with all these problem them you can still be happy. How?
9. Ziizɛ de ɣavele ɓɛtɛvɛ ɣɛ le faa ɓoeitiɛ ʋaa ma e yɛpɛni e vile ba?
9 Remember Jesus prophecy. Some people in the world today not even want imagine that disaster will ever happen to them. But we expect different-different disaster to happen and maybe some of them will even affect us. Jesus told his followers that “great earthquakes” and other disasters will happen before the end come. (Luke 21:11) He also say that there will be “increasing of lawlessness,” and we can see it happening today. For example, crime, violence, and terrorist attacks. (Matt. 24:12) Jesus not say that these problem them will happen only to those who not serving Jehovah. In fact, it been happening to plenty of Jehovah faithful servants. (Isa. 57:1; 2 Cor. 11:25) Maybe Jehovah can’t always stop this problem them from happening to us, but he can give us the strength we need to go through these thing them and have peace of mind.
10. Ani da ɣavele ɓɛtɛna faa ɓoeitiɛ ʋaa ma te naa luo, towa dɛ ɣɛ le ga zee-la-ma ɣa de ya? (Proverbs 22:3)
10 When we plan in advance for any emergency, we will not be too scary when it happen. But you think preparing in advance mean that we not get faith in Jehovah? No. In fact, it show that we really get faith that Jehovah will take care of us. How? The Bible give good-good advice that can prepare us for disasters. (Read Proverbs 22:3.) And through the magazines, the meetings, and the announcement them, Jehovah organization can always encourage us to prepare for any emergency.c We trust Jehovah? If we trust him, we will follow the advice now-now before disaster happen.
Preparing in advance can help you to survive when disaster happen (See paragraph 11)d
11. Zɛɓɛi e maa wolia de ɣaa yɔwɔ̃i Margaret na po-kɔ̃ɔ-mai zu?
11 Let look at the example of one sister name Margaret. They told her to leave her house quick because of wildfire in her area. Since plenty people were trying to leave the area the same time, they block the roads and it cause traffic. The thick smoke was in the air, and Margaret was in the traffic for some time. But she survive because she was prepare. She was having map that she use to keep in her purse and she was able to use it to leave the area. She even drive on that road before so that it can make it easy for her to follow it, when emergency happen. It was good that she prepare, because it help her to survive.
12. Zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ pagɛi ga de ziɛ ga tɛnɛgitiɛ kuuwu wũ-tuo veaitiɛ ta fe?
12 Sometime the government can put curfew in certain area, or they can ask people to leave the area, or maybe they can give some instructions to be able to protect us and other people. Some people can be slow to obey or they can just be wasting time because they not want leave their thing them behind. But how Christians must act? The Bible say: “For the Lord’s sake subject yourselves to every human creation, whether to a king as being superior or to governors as sent by him.” (1 Pet. 2:13, 14) Jehovah organization can also give us direction that can save us. They can always remind us to give the elder them our numbers, so that they can be able to find us during emergency. You na do it? Maybe they na give direction about where place to run, how to leave the area, and how to get relief supplies. Or maybe about how and when to be able to help other people. If we not obey, we will put our life and the lives of the elder them in jeopardy. Remember that these faithful men them keeping watch over us. (Heb. 13:17) Margaret said, “I really believe that following the direction of the elders and the organization save my life.
13. De ɣaa yɔwɔ̃i niitiɛ faa ɓoei zeizu te ma, zɛɓɛi e ɓɔga te va ga te zii-laa ɓɔga kuuzu nɛɛ maa zɔlɔwo?
13 Plenty of our brother and sister them who were displace because of disaster or war na try their best to get use to their new situation. And they start preaching, going to meetings and doing personal studies right away. Just like the Christian them way back who scatter because of persecution, our brother them continue “declaring the good news of the word.” (Acts 8:4) Preaching help them to focus on the Kingdom instead of their problems. Because of that, they continue to be happy and have peace of mind.
ZII-LAA ƔA ƔƐ E YA ANI ƁALAA TA ƔƐNA E LAA-NƆWƆ-WOSU JEHOVA ƲAA MA
14. Ani ta ɣɛna de laa-nɔwɔ-wosu, towa faa vɛɛ ɣɛ le zii-lai va e de ya?
14 Persecution can’t allow us to do plenty things that can make us to have peace of mind. We can be happy and satisfy when we meet together freely, preach, and do things that we can normally do, without thinking about people arresting us. If people take our freedom away, it can make us to worry and be thinking about wetin coming happen. It not wrong to feel like that. But still, we must be careful. Because Jesus said that persecution could make his disciples to stop following him. (John 16:1, 2) So how we can have peace of mind while going through persecution?
15. Ta ɣɛna de laa-nɔwɔ-wosu Jehova ʋaa ma, zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ maalɛ nɛɛni dɔ luo? (Jɔ̃ 15:20; 16:33)
15 The Bible say that: “All those desiring to live with godly devotion in association with Christ Jesus will also be persecuted.” (2 Tim. 3:12) One brother name Andrei was finding it hard to accept that fact after they stop the preaching work in his country. He said: ‘Plenty Jehovah Witness people here. How the Government will arrest all of us?’ So, instead of Andrei having peace of mind, he was always worrying. Other brother and sister them left the matter in Jehovah hands and they were not thinking that it not possible to arrest them. They knew that they can arrest them any time. But still, they were not worrying like Andrei. So Andrei decided to follow the brother and sister them example and trust in Jehovah. And right away he started having peace of mind, and he was happy even though they were going through this problem them. The same thing can happen to us. Even though Jesus say that we must be expecting persecution, he also gave us hope that we can remain faithful.—Read John 15:20; 16:33.
16. Tɛnɛ sɛɓɛi maa nɛɛ de ziɛ la ani ta ɣɛna de laa-nɔwɔ-wosu?
16 When they stop our work or restrict some of our work, we can receive instructions from the branch office and the elders. All these instruction them can protect us and they can make us to know how to keep receiving our spiritual food. It can also help us to know how far we can go with our preaching work. Do your best to obey the direction you receive, even if you not really understand why they give it. (Jas. 3:17) Also, never give information about our brother and sister them, or about the congregation to those who not get the right to know it.—Eccl. 3:7.
Wetin will help you to get peace of mind when you going through problems? (See paragraph 17)e
17. E ɣɛ velei Kolai Maa Meaitiɛ te ɣɛni la wɔlɔ-wɔlɔi zu, zɛɓɛi maa nɛɛ de da ɣisu ga de kɛ?
17 One of the main reason why Satan attacking God people, that because they “have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus.” (Rev. 12:17) Don’t allow Satan and his wicked world to make you scary. When we preaching and teaching while going through persecution we can be happy and get peace of mind. Way back, when the Jewish authorities told the apostles to stop preaching, those faithful men them choose to obey God. They not stop preaching and because of that they were happy. (Acts 5:27-29, 41, 42) When they restrict our work, we must be careful about how we preach. (Matt. 10:16) But if we do our best, we will get peace of mind from Jehovah and we will be happy because we sharing message that will save plenty people lives.
“ZII-LAI MAƔALAGI ƔA ƔƐ WO WOBA”
18. Zɛɓɛi maa nɛɛ e ɣɛ de ɣisu e vile zii-lai nii va?
18 Be convince that no matter how things get hard for us, we can get peace of mind. During times like that, we must remember that the peace we need, that the peace of God, which mean, the peace that only Jehovah can give us. We must rely on him when sickness break out, when disaster happen, or when we going through persecution. Stick close to his organization. Think about the wonderful future that ahead of us. If you do it, “the God of peace will be with you.” (Phil. 4:9) In the next article, we will discuss how we can help fellow Christians who facing trials, to find the peace of God.
