17 Akhucabange nganaku. Abomnakwethu, kuhlanganise noLukasi, bancenga uPowula bona angakhambi. Abanye bebalila. Atshwenyekile ngebanga lethando labo, uPowula uthi kibo ‘bayamdanisa,’ namkha njengombana amanye amatjhugululo wesiGirigi atjho, ‘bamzwisa ubuhlungu ehliziyweni.’ Nanyana kunjalo, bekazimisele, njengombana bekunjalo nangesikhathi anabafowethu beTirosi, akhenge avumele isizi neenyembezi kumqede amandla. 18 Bazizwa njani abomnakwethu ngalokho? Bamhlonipha. Siyafunda: “Sathi nasibona ukuthi akafuni ukuzwa, sahlamba izandla, sathi: ‘Intando kaJehova ayenzeke.’” (IzE. 21:14) Labo ebebalinga ukukhandela uPowula bona angayi eJerusalema akhenge basaragela phambili nokumkatelela. 10 UPowula wabazwisisa labo abagidinga amasiko wamaJuda, njengokungasebenzi ngeSabatha nofana ukungadli ukudla okuthileko. (Rom 14:1-6) Azange abeke imithetho ngendaba yokusoka. 12 UPowula bekangala, atjho bona umraro bekungasiyihlebezi ngaye kodwana bekuyitjisakalo yokukholelwa kwamaJuda emThethweni kaMosi. Bekakulungele ukwamukela imibono yabanye, kwaphela nakangalahli iinkambisolawulo zakaZimu. Watlola wathi: “EmaJudeni ngibe njengeJuda bona ngizuze amaJuda; kilabo abangaphasi komthetho ngibe njengongaphasi komthetho, ngitjho nanyana mina ngingekho ngaphasi komthetho, bona ngizuze labo abangaphasi komthetho.” (1 Kor. 9:20) Endabeni le, uPowula wasebenzisana nabadala beJerusalema begodu waba “njengongaphasi komthetho.” Ngokwenza njalo, wasibekela isibonelo esihle namhlanjesi sokusebenzisana nabadala, singabakateleli bona benze izinto ngendlelethu.—Heb. 13:17.

(IzEnzo 21:1-19) Ngemva kobana sihlukene nabo, satjhinga elwandle, sathaya ngokunqophileko safika eKhose, ngelanga elilandelako saya eRodosi, ukusuka lapho saya ePatara. 2 Safumana umkhumbi oya eFunisiya, sawukhwela begodu sathaya. 3 Sabona isihlengele seSayipurasi ngehlangothini langesinceleni, sadlula sathayela eSiriya, sahlika eTirosi, lapho umkhumbi bewuzokuhlisa khona umthwalwawo. 4 Safuna abafundi besabafumana, sahlala lapho amalanga alikhomba. Saguqa magega nelwandle, sathandaza 6 begodu salayelisana. (IzEnzo 23:16) Kodwana indodana kadadwabo kaPowula yezwa ngeriyadlhanelo, yangena ngekampeni yamasotja yabikela uPowula ngalo.

5 Isikhuthazo esanikelwa nguPowula safika ngesikhathi esifaneleko. Kwathi ngelanga elilandelako, amadoda angaphezu kwama-40 “aluka amano begodu azibopha nangesifungo, athi angekhe adle namkha asele angakambulali uPowula.” ‘Ngokuzibopha ngesifungwesi’, amaJuda la bekatjengisa bona azimisele kangangani ukubulala umpostoli lo. Nange bangaphumeleli eriyadlhaneneli, lokho bekuzokufana nokuthi bavelelwe yinto embi. (IzE. 23:16-22) Kwamambala uJehova uyabathanda abantu abatjha abafana nomtjhana kaPowula ongakabizwa ngegama, ababatlhogomela ngesibindi abantu bakaZimu bebafake nokuphila kwabo engozini, begodu ngokuthembeka benze nanyana yini bona umsebenzi womBuso uragele phambili.

10 EKhesariya, uPowula ‘bekahlale agadiwe ngesigodlweni sakaHerode’ alindele bona kufike abamangaleli bakhe abavela eJerusalema. (IzE. 23:35) Ngemva kwamalanga amahlanu umPhristi oPhakemeko u-Ananiyasi weza wehla nabanye abadala nesikhulumi satjhatjhalazi ibizo laso nguTertulusi. Wathi nakafikako uTertulusi wathoma ngokudumisa uFeliksi ngalokho akwenzela amaJuda, kusebaleni ukuthi bekamtshima begodu bekafuna ukwamukelwa nguye. Wahlala endabeni, uTertulusi wathi uPowula ‘ulitshwenyo begodu uphehla ukuvukela umbuso phakathi kwawo woke amaJuda ephasini loke begodu udosa phambili isitlamu samaNazaretha. Ulinge nokuhlambalaza ithempeli, ngalokho sambamba.’ Amanye amaJuda nawo “ahlanganyela ekusahlelenokhu, athi izintwezi ziliqiniso.” (IzE. 24:5, 6, 9) Ukuvukela umbuso, ukudosa phambili ihlelo eliyingozi nokusilaphaza ithempeli—la bekumacala amambi khulu ebekangenza bona umuntu afumane isigwebo sentambo.
(IzEnzo 24:10-21) Umbusi wakhomba uPowula ngehloko bona akhulume, waphendula wathi:“Njengombana ngazi kuhle ukuthi ube mumahluleli wesitjhabesi iminyaka eminengi, ngikulungele ukukhuluma bona ngizivikele. 11 Njengombana nawe ungakuqinisekisa lokhu, akukadluli amalanga ali-12 ngikhuphukele eJerusalema ngiyokulotjha uZimu; 12 akhenge bangifumane ngiphikisana namuntu ngethempelini namkha ngiphehla isiqubuthu emasinagogeni namkha kilo loke idorobho. 13 Angekhe bakulethela nobufakazi bezinto abangimmangalela ngazo njenganje. 14 Kodwana ngiyavuma kuwe, ukuthi ngokuvumelana nendlela abayibiza ngokuthi sitlamu, ngenzela uZimu wabokhokho bami umsebenzi ocwengileko, njengombana ngikholwa zoke izinto ezitlolwe emThethweni nezitlolwe baPhorofidi. 15 Nginethemba kuZimu, okulithemba nabantwaba abanalo, lokuthi kuzokuba nokuvuswa kwabafileko kwabalungileko nabangakalungi. 16 Ngebanga lalokhu ngihlala ngilwela ukubulunga unembeza ohlwengileko phambi kwakaZimu nabantu. 17 Nje-ke ngemva kweminyaka eminengi, ngafika ngizokuletha izipho zomusa esitjhabeni sekhethu nokuthi ngenze iminikelo. 18 Nangisatjheja indaba le, bangifumene ngihlambulukile ngokwesiko ngethempelini, kodwana ngingasisesiqubuthwini namkha ngibanga ihlangahlangano. Kodwana bekunamanye amaJuda avela esifundeni se-Asiya 19 ebekufuze abe khona phambi kwakho bona angimangalele nangabe kwamambala kunento angisola ngayo. 20 Namkha vumela amadoda alapha bona atjho ukuthi ngibuphi ubumbi abufumeneko njengombana bengijame phambi kweSanhedrini, 21 ngaphandle kwento yinye le engiyirhuwelele ngesikhathi ngijame hlangana nawo: ‘Ngebanga levuko labafileko namhlanjesi ngiyahlulelwa phambi kwakho!’”

13 UPowula usibekela isibonelo esihle okufuze sisilandele nakwenzeka bona sisiwe eemphathimandleni ngebanga lokulotjha uZimu nokuleyelwa amala ngezinto ezifana nokuphehla inturhu, ukuvukela umbuso, namkha ukuba malunga ‘wesiqhema esiyingozi.’ UPowula akhenge azincengele ebabusini, asebenzise amezwi azwakala kamnandi njengoTertulusi. UPowula wakhuluma ngehlonipho nangommoya ophasi. Ngokuhlakanipha, wanikela ubufakazi obuliqiniso nobuzwakalako. UPowula wathi “amaJuda avela esifundeni se-Asiya” amsole ngokuthi usilaphaza ithempeli bewangekho nakulalelwa icaleli, ngokomthetho bekufuze bona abalalele nabamsolako.—IzE. 24:18, 19.
14 Kanengi, uPowula azange alise ukunikela ubufakazi malungana nalokho akukholelwako. Ngesibindi wayitjho godu indaba yokukholelwa ekuvusweni kwabafileko, eyabanga ihlangahlangano nakajame eSanhedrini. (IzE. 23:6-10) Nakazivikelako, wagandelela khulu indaba yethemba lokuvuswa kwabafileko. Kubayini? Kungombana uPowula watjhumayela ngoJesu nangokuvuswa kwakhe—into abaphikisi bakhe ebebangekhe bayamukele. (IzE. 26:6-8, 22, 23) Iye, bekuyindaba yokuvuswa kwabantu—kuhlekuhle bekuyindaba yokukholelwa kuJesu nokuvuswa kwakhe—eyavusa ipikiswano.
Rhubhulula Ngezinto ZakaZimu Eziligugu
(IzEnzo 23:6) Nje-ke uPowula azi ukuthi abanye baSadusi nokuthi abanye baFarisi, warhuwelela eSanhedrini wathi: “Madoda, bafowethu, ngimFarisi, indodana yabaFarisi. Ngahlulelwa ngebanga lokuthi nginethemba lokobanyana abafileko bazokuvuka.”

Bazwisisa ukuthi uPowula bekangakhulumi amala, ngombana abaFarisi beSanhedrini bebazi ukuthi uPowula bekamKrestu otjhisekako. Kodwana endabeni le, lokho uPowula akutjhoko ngokuba mFarisi kungazwisiseka, uPowula wazifanisa nabaFarisi kunabaSadusi ngebanga lokuthi bebakholelwa evukweni. Ngokwenza njalo, wakha isisekelo abavumelana ngaso nabaFarisi ebebalalele. Bekanethemba lokuthi nakakhuluma ngendaba le bekuzokwenza bona amanye amalunga weSanhedrini avumelane naye, begodu lokho kwaphumelela. (IzE 23:7-9) Amezwi kaPowula akuzE 23:6 avumelana nalokho uPowula akutjhoko nakazivikela eKosini u-Agripa. (IzEnzo 24:24) Ngemva kwamalanga athileko uFeliksi weza noDrusila umkakhe, obekamJuda, wathumela bona kubizwe uPowula, wamlalela nakakhuluma ngokukholelwa kuKrestu Jesu.
(IzEnzo 24:27) Kodwana kuthe nasekuphele iminyaka emibili, uFeliksi walandelwa nguPorkiyusi Festusi; ngebanga lokuthi uFeliksi bekafuna ukuthandwa maJuda, walisa uPowula avalelwe.

Uhlezi lapho na bona ungahlulele ngokuya ngokomThetho khisibe wena uphula umThetho ngokuyala bona ngibethwe?” 4 Labo abajame lapho bathi: “Uthuka umphristi ophakemeko kaZimu?” 5 UPowula wathi: “Bafowethu, bengingazi ukuthi mphristi ophakemeko.
