18 The chief of the guard also took Se·raiʹah+ the chief priest, Zeph·a·niʹah+ the second priest, and the three doorkeepers.+

21 The king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death at Ribʹlah in the land of Haʹmath.+ Thus Judah went into exile from its land.+

21 Jeremiah received the word from Jehovah when King Zed·e·kiʹah+ sent to him Pashʹhur+ son of Mal·chiʹjah and Zeph·a·niʹah+ son of Ma·a·seiʹah, the priest, requesting: 2 “Please inquire of Jehovah in our behalf, because King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar* of Babylon is waging war against us.+ Perhaps Jehovah will perform one of his wonderful works in our behalf, so that he will withdraw from us.”+

3 And King Zed·e·kiʹah sent Je·huʹcal+ the son of Shel·e·miʹah and Zeph·a·niʹah+ the son of Ma·a·seiʹah the priest to Jeremiah the prophet, saying: “Please pray in our behalf to Jehovah our God.”
