The Second of Kings
16 For the 17th year of Pe′kah wey be the son of Rem·a·li′ah, A′haz wey be the son of Jo′tham the king of Judah come be king. 2 A′haz dey 20 years when e start to rule as king, and e rule for 16 years for Jerusalem. E no do wetin correct for the eyes of Jehovah im God as David im papa-papa do. 3 Instead, e do like the kings for Israel, and e even burn im own son for fire as sacrifice.* E do the serious bad things wey the nations wey Jehovah pursue comot for Israel people be de do. 4 E still continue to do sacrifice and to make sacrifice smoke ontop the high place* them, ontop the hills, and under every big fine tree.
5 Na that time Re′zin wey be king of Syria and Pe′kah the son of Rem·a·li′ah wey be king of Israel come fight war against Jerusalem. Them surround A′haz but them no fit take over the city. 6 That time, Re′zin wey be king of Syria collect E′lath and give-am back to E′dom. After that one, e pursue Jew people* comot from E′lath. E′dom people come enter E′lath, and them don de stay there till today. 7 So A′haz send messengers go meet Tig′lath-pil·e′ser wey be king of As·syr′i·a and tell-am say: “I be your servant and your son. Come up, come save me from the hand of Syria king and from the hand of Israel king wey de attack me.” 8 Then A′haz carry the gold and the silver wey them see for the house of Jehovah and for the place wey them de keep better-better things for the house of the king and send the things go give the king of As·syr′i·a to bribe-am. 9 The king of As·syr′i·a do wetin e beg-am, so e go Damascus, take over the city, and carry the people for the city go Kir as slaves, and e kill Re′zin.
10 Then King A′haz go meet Tig′lath-pil·e′ser wey be king of As·syr′i·a for Damascus. When King A′haz see the altar wey dey Damascus, e come send the plan of the altar go give U·ri′jah wey be priest. The plan de show how the altar be and how them build-am. 11 So U·ri′jah wey be priest follow all the directions wey King A′haz don send to-am from Damascus and e use-am build the altar. U·ri′jah wey be priest build the altar finish before King A′haz come back from Damascus. 12 When the king come back from Damascus and see the altar, e go where the altar dey and do offerings ontop-am. 13 And e continue to make im offerings wey them de burn and im grain offerings de smoke ontop that altar. E still pour im drink offerings and sprinkle the blood of im peace sacrifice them ontop the altar. 14 Then e move the copper altar wey dey Jehovah front from where e be dey for front of the house, from between im own altar and the house of Jehovah, e come put-am for the north side of im own altar. 15 King A′haz command U·ri′jah wey be priest say: “Make the morning offering wey them de burn, smoke ontop the big altar, plus the evening grain offering, the king offering wey them de burn, and im grain offering, plus all the people offerings wey them de burn, their grain offerings, and their drink offerings. Make you sprinkle all the blood of the offerings wey them de burn and all the blood of the other sacrifice them ontop-am. As for the altar wey them use copper make, I go decide wetin I go use-am do.” 16 And U·ri′jah wey be priest do everything wey King A′haz command-am.
17 Apart from that one, King A′haz cut the things wey be like zinc, wey them use make the body of the things wey be like truck into pieces and comot the basin wey dey ontop them and e carry the Sea from ontop the bulls wey them use copper make, wey be de hold-am and put-am ontop stone floor. 18 And the place wey them build for the house wey roof dey ontop, wey them de use for Sabbath day, and the place wey the king de pass enter the temple, the king shift them comot from the house of Jehovah. E do that one because of the king of As·syr′i·a.
19 As for the other story about A′haz, wetin e do, them no write-am for the book wey talk about the things wey happen for the time of Judah kings? 20 Then A′haz die like im papa-papa them and them bury-am with im papa-papa them for the City of David, and im son Hez·e·ki′ah* start to rule as king after-am.
