The Second Book of Samuel

 3 My God na my rock, na im I de go meet to protect me,

Na im be my shield and my powerful savior,* na im be the place wey I trust to protect me.*

Na im be the place wey I de run go hide, my savior; na you de save me from people wey want fight me.

 4 I de call Jehovah, the person wey reach to get praise,

And e go save me from my enemies.

 5 Things wey fit kill me surround me like water for sea wey strong breeze de push go front and back;

Useless men wey be like water from river wey de move with force make me fear.

 6 Grave* use ropes surround me;

The traps wey death set dey my front.

 7 When I dey for trouble, I call Jehovah,

I continue to call my God.

Then e hear my voice from im temple,

And im ear hear as I de cry for help.

 8 The earth start to shake go back and front;

The foundations of the heavens really shake,

E shake go back and front because them don make God vex.

 9 Smoke come out from im nose,

And fire wey de burn well-well come out from im mouth;

Hot charcoal de burn come out from im front.

10 E make the heavens bend as e de come down,

And dark cloud dey under im leg.

12 Then e use darkness surround imself like tent,

With water and cloud wey don gather well-well and wey dey dark.

14 Then Jehovah start to make thunder strike from heaven;

The Person Wey High Pass make im voice loud.

15 E shoot im arrows and scatter my enemies;

E strike them with thunder light, and make them confuse.

16 People come start to see the ground for inside sea;

Wetin Jehovah talk because e de vex make the foundations of the earth open,

Them open because of the kind force wey air take comot from im nose.

17 E stretch im hand from up;

E hold me and drag me come out from deep water.

18 E save me from my enemy wey get power,

From people wey hate me, wey get power pass me.

19 Them challenge me face-to-face for the day wey I dey for trouble,

But na Jehovah help me.

20 E bring me come out and put me for place wey dey safe;*

E save me because e de happy with me.

21 Jehovah de bless me because I de do wetin correct for im eye;

E de pay me back because my hand dey clean.*

22 Because I de always do wetin Jehovah want,

And I never do this wicked thing, wey be to leave my God.

23 I de always remember all im judgments;

I no go stop to do the things wey e command.

24 For im front, I go continue to be person wey them no fit talk bad about,

And I go always hold myself make I no do bad.

25 Make Jehovah pay me back because I de do wetin correct for im eye,

Because e know say my hand dey clean.

26 You no go leave the person wey hold you tight;

And person* wey them no fit talk bad about, you de treat-am well;

27 You de show say you dey clean to people wey dey clean,

But you de show cunning-cunning people say you get sense.

28 Because you de save people wey de carry body down,

But your eyes dey against people wey de carry body up, and you de bring them down.

29 Because na you be my lamp, O Jehovah;

Na Jehovah de change the darkness wey surround me to light.

30 With your help I fit fight group of armed robbers;

With power from God, I fit jump wall pass.

31 Everything wey the true God de do no get mistake;

Everything wey Jehovah de talk clean finish.*

33 The true God na the strong protection wey I get,

And e go make my way dey perfect.

34 E de make my leg be like antelope own;

And e de make me stand for high place them.

35 E de train my hands to fit fight war;

And I fit use hand bend bow wey them make with copper.

36 You de give me your shield wey de save me,

And as you dey humble, this one de raise me up.

37 You de make the place wey I de put my leg wide;

So that my leg* no go draw comot.

38 I go pursue my enemies and destroy them;

I no go come back until I don wipe them comot.

39 And I go wipe them comot and scatter them to pieces so that them no go fit stand up again;

Them go fall under my leg.

40 You go give me power to fit fight war;

And you go make my enemies fall under me.

41 You go make my enemies turn back and run from me;*

I go destroy people wey hate me.

42 Them de cry say make person help them, but nobody dey to save them;

Them de even cry say make Jehovah help them, but e no answer them.

43 I go pound them until them smooth like dust wey dey for ground;

I go grind them and waka ontop them like potopoto wey dey for street.

You go protect me so that I go be the leader of nations;

People wey I no know go serve me.

45 People wey come from another country go de shake for my front because of fear;

Them go obey me because of the things wey them de hear about me.*

46 People wey come from another country no go get mind again;*

Them go come out from the safe place them wey them de hide, and de shake with fear.

48 The true God de pay my enemies back;

E de win people and put them under me;

49 E de save me from my enemies.

You de raise me up and put me ontop people wey de attack me;

You de save me from the person wey like fight.

50 Na im make I go thank you, O Jehovah, among the nations,

And I go sing* to praise your name say:

51 E de do big things to save im king;

E de show love wey no de fail to the person wey e don anoint,

To David and im children* forever.”
