WETIN WE GO LEARN
2. One minute. Each week, after we don sing and pray to start Life and Preaching Meeting, the chairman go use one minute talk about wetin we go learn for meeting that day. Make the chairman talk about the main point for the meeting that day.
FINE-FINE LESSON FROM BIBLE
3. Talk: Ten minutes. For inside Life and Preaching Meeting Workbook, the topic and two or three main point dey. Na elder go handle this part or ministerial servant wey go fit handle-am well. If na new Bible book we go start that week, we go play the video wey de talk about wetin dey the Bible book. The person wey de handle that part fit connect wetin the video talk to the topic. And make e make sure say e talk about all the main point wey dey the meeting workbook. And if time go dey, make e still talk about picture wey follow the topic because the picture de make the message clear. E fit join information from other publication as far as say e support the points from the meeting workbook.
4. Fine-Fine Things Wey You for Bible: Ten minutes. This part na question-and-answer, no need to talk wetin we go learn, and wetin we don learn. Na elder or ministerial servant wey go fit handle this part well, go handle-am. E go ask two questions. E go still decide whether them go read the Bible verse wey dey front of the first question. When them call you to answer question; make your answer no pass 30 seconds.
5. Bible Reading: Four minutes. Na brothers de handle this part. The brother wey go handle this part no need to talk anything before e start to read or after e finish. The meeting chairman go listen well so that e fit help the brothers improve the way them de read. E go make sure say them read well, their reading clear, e smooth, them raise their voice where them suppose raise-am and bring-am down where them suppose bring-am down, them stop where them suppose stop, and use their normal voice. Some Bible reading part long pass some. So make the Life and Preaching Meeting overseer, know the part wey each student go fit handle.
DE USE ALL YOU HEART PREACH
6. Fifteen minutes. This part of our meeting na to help everybody fit practice how to preach, and to make the way them de preach and teach and discuss with people better pass before. Elders fit still get assignment for this part. Make each student work on the study point wey dey for the Teaching or Love People brochure, wey dey inside bracket for the same line wey e assignment dey for the Life and Preaching Meeting Workbook. Sometimes, the part wey them put as discussion go dey. Na elder or ministerial servant wey go fit handle this part well, go handle-am.—Check paragraph 15 about how to handle the part wey be discussion.
7. When You De Start Discussion: Brother or sister go fit handle this student assignment. If na brother go handle-am, the assistant go be brother and if na sister, the assistant go be sister or person for their family. 8. When You De Check the Person Again: Brother or sister go fit handle this student assignment. If na brother go handle-am, the assistant go be brother and if na sister, the assistant go be sister. 9. When You De Make Disciples: Brother or sister go fit handle this student assignment. If na brother go handle-am, the assistant go be brother and if na sister, the assistant go be sister. (km-E 5/97 p. 2) The student and im assistant fit sitdown or stand. You go do this part like say the study don already start. Just start your part, no talk wetin una go learn or wetin una don learn for the study. Unless na the study point wey you de work on. No be must say you go read all the paragraph wey dey your part but you fit still do-am if you want.
10. When You De Explain Your Belief: If the assignment na talk na brother go handle-am. If the assignment na demonstration na Brother or sister go fit handle this student assignment. If na brother go handle-am, the assistant go be brother and if na sister, the assistant go be sister or person for their family. E go good make the student use sense answer for clear way the question wey be the topic. E go use the book wey them talk for the assignment take answer the question. The student fit choose to talk about the book wey them talk when e de handle im part.
11. Talk: Na brothers de handle this part and na direct talk to the congregation. When the talk na from the appendix A wey dey the Love People brochure, the student go talk how them go fit use the Bible verse for preaching. For example e fit explain when we fit use the verse, wetin the verse mean, and how to use the verse discuss with person. When the talk na from one of the lesson wey dey the Love People brochure, make the student focus on how we go use-am for preaching. E fit talk the important point wey dey point 1 of the lesson or other important verse wey them add join the lesson, If e need.
12. Topic: Wetin dey this paragraph and the one wey follow na wetin dey “When You De Start Discussion” and “When You De Check the Person Again” assignment. Unless them tell you to do another thing, wetin the student go do na to discuss simple Bible truth wey concern the person wey im de talk with and to open way to continue the discussion another time. The student go select topic wey people for im area go like discuss. Na im go decide whether e go use or e no go use the publication or video wey dey our Teaching Toolbox. Make the student no cram everything wey e want talk for head, instead make e try make the way e de discuss de better, make e talk things wey people like and de discuss for normal way.
13. Setting: Make the student use the setting wey go work for una area. For example:
(1) House to House: This setting na preaching from door to door—whether na face-to-face, for phone, or with letter—and to check person wey you meet for house-to-house preaching again.
(2) Informal Witness: This setting na to show how to turn your discussion with person to preaching. E fit be to talk one Bible verse to people wey you meet for work, school, your area, for public transportation, or anywhere as you de do things every day.
(3) Public Witnessing: This setting fit be cart Witnessing, to preach for business place, for park, or anywhere wey we fit see people.
14. How to use Our Video and Literature: E depend on the situation, the student fit decide to use video or literature. If them add to show video for the student assignment or e choose to show video, make e introduce and discuss the video but make e no play-am.
DE LIVE CHRISTIAN LIFE
15. This part na 15 minute and we go start-am with song. This part go get one or two part wey go help everybody de do wetin Bible talk for their life. Na elder go handle this part or ministerial servant wey fit handle-am well. But if na local need na elder go handle-am. When the part na discussion, the speaker fit choose to do-am as question and answer from beginning go reach the end with the question wey dey inside already. E fit still use additional question. Make your introduction dey short so that you go fit get plenty time cover the main point and for the audience to get time answer well. If interview dey this part, and if e dey possible, e better make the person wey them want interview come platform instead make im sitdown for im sit de talk.
16. Congregation Bible Study: Thirty minute. Na elder wey go fit handle-am well go handle this part. (If elders for the congregation no plenty, ministerial servant wey fit handle-am well, fit do-am.) Na the body of elders go choose who fit handle Congregation Bible Study well. People wey elders don choose go make sure say them handle the study well, no chop time, make the point from the main Bible verse them clear, and help everybody see how them fit use wetin them learn for their life. Brothers wey them choose go gain when them read the direction wey dey, about how to conduct question-and-answer part. (w23.04 p. 24, box) If all the point for the part of the study that week don come out, no need to de talk other things join just to complete the time. If e dey possible, make different-different brothers de conduct the study and read the paragraphs, every week. If the Meeting chairman say make the brother wey de conduct, reduce e part, the brother go choose how e go take reduce-am. E fit decide say make them no read some paragraph.
WETIN WE DON LEARN
17. Three minute. Meeting chairman go talk about important points wey we don learn. E go still talk about wetin we go learn for next meeting. If time dey, e fit call the name of the people wey get part for next meeting. For this part, the Meeting chairman go read any announcement and letter wey dey, unless we write say na another elder go read-am. E no go announce field service and cleaning arrangement for platform, but e go dey for notice board. If the Meeting chairman see say the time wey e get no go reach to read all the letter and announcement wey e suppose read, e go tell the brothers wey get part for De Live Christian Life, say make them reduce their part. (Check paragraphs 16 and 19.) The meeting go end with song and prayer.
TALK WHERE THE PERSON DO WELL AND WHERE E NEED TO WORK ON
18. After each student don handle their part, Meeting chairman go use one minute talk where the person do well, or where e need to work on. E go do this one according to the study point wey the student de work on. When the Meeting chairman call the student to handle e part, e no go talk the study point wey the student go follow. But after the student don handle e part, the chairman go thank the student. Then e fit talk the study point wey the student follow, and why e talk say the student follow the study point well. Or e go explain why and how the student need to work on that particular study point. The Meeting chairman fit still talk about other part of the demonstration, if e feel say e go help the student or brothers and sisters wey de listen. If other area still dey wey the chairman feel say the student still need to work on maybe for the study point wey e follow or another study point, e fit talk with-am after meeting or another time. E go follow wetin dey Love People brochure, De Teach brochure or Ministry School book when e de do this one. If you want know more about the work of Meeting chairman and auxiliary counselor, make you check paragraphs 19, 24, and 25.
TIME
19. Make the Meeting chairman and anybody wey get part, no chop time. Even though say the Life and Ministry Meeting Workbook talk the time for each part. If you don cover all the point no need to add extra information, because e no mean say you must use all your time even if you don talk all the point for your part. If person chop time for other part of the meeting, make the Life and Preaching Meeting chairman or the auxiliary counselor correct the person after. (Check paragraphs 24 and 25.) The whole meeting with song and prayer go be 1 hour 45 minutes.
WHEN CIRCUIT OVERSEER VISIT
20. For the week wey circuit overseer go visit congregation, we go follow wetin dey Life and Preaching Meeting Workbook except Congregation Bible Study. Na the 30 minutes service talk, wey the circuit overseer go give, go replace the Congregation Bible Study. Before the circuit overseer handle the service talk, Meeting chairman go first talk wetin we learn, and wetin we go learn for the next meeting. And read any letter and announcement wey dey, then e go call the circuit overseer to give the service talk. After the talk, the circuit overseer go choose song wey e go use close the meeting. E fit call another brother make e come pray. For the week of the circuit overseer, second class no go dey for the language of the congregation. Any group wey de go meeting with the congregation fit still do their meeting when circuit overseer dey with the congregation. But the group go join the congregation when the circuit overseer de give the service talk
ASSEMBLY OR CONVENTION WEEK
21. Meeting no go dey for assembly or convention week. Make brothers and sisters study the meeting program for that week, with their family for house or by theirself.
MEMORIAL WEEK
22. If Memorial Day fall between Monday to Friday, Life and Preaching Meeting program for that week, no go dey for Meeting Workbook.
LIFE AND PREACHING MEETING OVERSEER
23. Body of elders go select one elder wey go be Life and Preaching Meeting overseer. E go make sure say the meeting go well and say brothers and sisters follow wetin dey this instruction for their part. Make im and auxiliary counselor de tell each other how things de go. As the Meeting Workbook come out, the Life and Preaching Meeting overseer go select people wey go handle midweek meeting parts for the two months. The assignments them na, part wey no be student assignment, to choose midweek meeting chairman from those wey the elders approve and student assignments (Check paragraph 3-16 and 24.) As e de arrange to give the student assignment make e think about the student age, experience, and whether the student dey free to talk about the topic of the assignment wey e want give the student. Make e do the same thing for other meeting part. Make each person wey get part know at least three weeks before the day of their assignment. Make e use The Our Life and Preaching meeting assignment slip (S-89) for the student assignment. The Life and Preaching Meeting overseer go make sure say one copy of the assignment schedule for all the meetings dey for notice board. The body of elder fit select another elder or ministerial servant to assist-am. Na only elders go fit assign part wey no be student part.
LIFE AND PREACHING MEETING CHAIRMAN
24. Every week, different-different elder go be chairman for Life and Preaching Meeting. (If elders no plenty, ministerial servant wey fit handle-am well, fit be the chairman.) Na the chairman go talk wetin we go learn for the meeting and wetin we don learn for the meeting. Na e go call everybody wey get part come platform. If the elders for the congregation no plenty, the chairman fit still handle other part for the meeting, especially part wey be video and wey no get anything to discuss. When person handle e part finish, make e talk small thing about their part. Na the body of elders go choose who go really fit do the work of chairman well. All the elders wey them choose, go be chairman turn by turn. Because of how things be for some congregation, the Life and Preaching Meeting overseer fit be chairman for meeting plenty times pass other elders. If elder fit handle Congregation Bible Study well, e mean say e fit still handle meeting chairman well. Make the Meeting chairman always remember to use love talk where student do well and where e need to work on. The chairman go still make sure say the meeting close on time. (Check paragraphs 17 and 19.) If the chairman want and if space dey the platform, another microphone fit still dey for platform so that as e de talk about the next part, the brother wey get the part go stand for the first microphone. The Meeting chairman fit still choose to sitdown for platform when the students de handle their part. This one fit help save time.
AUXILIARY COUNSELOR
25. Make una use elder wey sabi give talk as auxiliary counselor. The work of auxiliary counselor, na to correct elders and ministerial servants wey no handle their part well. Whether na for Life and Preaching Meeting, public talk, person wey de read or conduct Watchtower Study, or Congregation Bible Study. (Check paragraph 19.) If una get plenty elders for una congregation wey fit do the work of auxiliary counselor, them go de rotate the work year by year. No be must say the auxiliary counselor go correct person after every part wey e handle.
SECOND CLASS
26. If people wey de handle student part for una congregation plenty, una fit do second class for them. Make one brother dey the second class to serve as meeting chairman. E go better if the brother na elder. But if elder no dey, make ministerial servant wey fit handle-am well, do-am. Na the body of elders go choose who go be Meeting chairman for there and if them go de rotate the work. The brother go follow wetin dey paragraph 18. If the second class go dey, the students wey get part for the second class and people wey go support them go go the second class after Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible. And them go come back to the main hall after De Use All Your Heart Preach.
