Isifungo sokungxama sikaSawule sambeka kwimeko yesiqalekiso uSirayeli, kodwa akubonakali ukuba uYonatan wayefanelwe kukulahlwa nguYehova ngenxa yokuba wenza ngokuchasene nesifungo.
EyokuQala kaSamuweli 14:24-45 ibalisa ngesi siganeko. AmaSirayeli, efakwe inkalipho zizenzo zikaYonatan, ayesilwa notshaba olungamaFilisti. Ukumkani uSawule wathi: “Uqalekisiwe odla isonka kungekahlwi, ndide ndiziphindezelele ezintshabeni zam.” (lndinyana) Engazi nto ngesifungo sikayise, uYonatan wazinika amandla ngokudla intwana yobusi. Amanye amadoda omkhosi akwaSirayeli, nawo awayediniwe, ona ngokuxhela iinkomo aza adla ngokunyoluka inyama engophiswanga gazi.
