9 Njengoko sele siphawulile, abantu bakaYehova bafikelela kwithuba lokuvavanywa ngokuqatha ngowe-1918. Amazwi angakumbi omprofeti uMalaki 3:1-3 acacisa oko kwakusenzeka: “Iya kuza ke ngesiquphe etempileni yayo iNkosi [uYehova] leyo niyifunayo; kwaumthunywa womnqophiso [ka-Abraham] enimlangazelelayo”—uYesu. ‘PHUMANI KUYO, BANTU BAM’!
10. Nguwuphi umgwebo kaThixo owafikela iNgqobhoko nalo lonke unqulo lobuxoki ngowe-1919, usiba nawuphi umphumo kwiBhabhiloni Enkulu?
10 Njengenxalenye engaguqukiyo yeBhabhiloni Enkulu, abefundisi beNgqobhoko abanakuwunyamezela umgwebo kaYehova. Baye bazingcolisa kakubi iingubo zabo ngokuba nenxaxheba ekubulaweni kwabantu ngethuba lemfazwe yehlabathi nangokutshutshisa amaKristu okwenyaniso. Lalifikile ixesha lokuba bonke abathandi benyaniso nobulungisa benze ngokuvisisana nomyalelo wesiprofeto esikuYeremiya 51:45: “Phumani phakathi kwayo, bantu bam; sizani elowo umphefumlo wakhe, ngenxa yokuvutha komsindo kaYehova.”
11, 12. (a) Sithini isithunywa sezulu kwiSityhilelo 17:1, 2 ngokuphathelele ukugwetywa kweBhabhiloni Enkulu? (b) Ayintoni “amanzi amaninzi” elihleli kuwo ihenyukazi elikhulu, ibe libenze njani abo bawumiyo umhlaba ukuba ‘banxiliswe yiwayini yobuhenyu balo’?
11 IBhabhiloni Enkulu iwile! Kodwa ayikatshatyalaliswa. Njengobukhosi behlabathi bonqulo lobuxoki, iza kuqhubeka isebenza ithuba elifutshane njengesixhobo esiphambili sikaSathana senkohliso. UThixo uza kuyigweba njani okwesihlandlo sokugqibela? Asishiywanga sithandabuza! Masityhile iiBhayibhile zethu kwiSityhilelo 17:1, 2. Apha isithunywa sezulu sithetha nompostile uYohane ibe, sisebenzisa yena, sithetha nabo bafunda ngesi siprofeto namhlanje, sisithi: “Yiza apha, ndikubonise ukugwetywa kwalo ihenyukazi elikhulu, elihleli phezu kwawo amanzi amaninzi; abahenyuze nalo ookumkani bomhlaba, abo bawumiyo umhlaba, banxiliswa yiwayini yobuhenyu bayo.” Ibinzana elithi “amanzi amaninzi” libhekisela kuluntu olungazolanga noluyinkungu nelanga, oluthi okwangoku lucinezelwe lihenyukazi elikhulu. Kwanabefundisi abakho msulwa kangako ekwenzeni umbulo wokoqobo, owagxekwa ngokuphandle ngumpostile uPawulos xa wathi: “Musani ukulahlekiswa; abenza umbulo, nabakhonzi bezithixo, nabakrexezi, nezifebe namadoda alalanayo, . . . abayi kubudla ilifa ubukumkani bukaThixo. 13 Ngaba abefundisi banamhlanje baye ‘bahlanjululwa’? Kaloku, ngokomzekelo, khawuqwalasele imeko yaseBritani, ndawo leyo eyakhe yayintsika yobuProtestanti. 15 Kuyo yonke iNgqobhoko, ibe eneneni kulo lonke ihlabathi, kukho ukuwohloka okoyikisayo kwimigaqo yokuziphatha okuhle. Kweminye imimandla, ngoku umtshato ugqalwa njengongeyomfuneko, ibe abo batshatileyo bacinga ukuba ukuthembeka emtshatweni kukusela ngendeb’ endala. Bambalwa abatshata ngokusemthethweni, ibe kwabo benjenjalo umlinganiselo woqhawulo-mtshato uyanda. EUnited States, inani labantu abaqhawula umtshato liye laphindeka ngaphezu kwesithathu kwiminyaka engama-25 edluleyo lifikelela kwisigidi nyaka ngamnye.
