GUI 15 Praise Jehovah’s Firstborn!

Jehova Na Su-Ʋaa-Yɛ Fai Ma Wulo-Nu-Mai E Ʋaa Ma

“Ya ɣa ya su-ʋaa-yɛ kpɔɔɓɔɔ bo.”—PS. 130:4.

WHAT THE MAIN POINT?

We will see some example dem in the Bible that will help us to be grateful for the way Jehovah can forgive us.

1. Nu ɣa de zu-ʋaa-yɛna zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ gaa-ɣaa zu-ɓai?

WHEN somebody say “I forgive you,” ehn you can feel good especially if you know that you say or do something that make the person to feel bad? But what it really mean when the person say “I forgive you”? You think the person mean that yor good friend again? Or you think he just saying that he not want talk about what happen? People can mean different-different things when they say they forgive.

2. Zɛɓɛi Gala Kɔlɔi boga e vile Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛ fai va? (Wɛlɛ nii va ponɛɛ bu.)

2 The way Jehovah can forgive different from the way we can forgive each other. Nobody can forgive like Jehovah. The psalmist say this one about Jehovah: “With you there is true forgiveness, so that you may be held in awe.”a (Ps. 130:4) Yes, Jehovah forgiveness that “true forgiveness.” He the one can show us what it really mean to forgive. The people who write the Bible use certain Hebrew word to describe the way Jehovah can forgive. And they never use that word to describe the way human being can forgive.

3. Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛ fai lɛ wuloni ɣɛ le ga nu ɓuse nɛdɛɛ? (Isaiah 55:6, 7)

3 When Jehovah forgive somebody, he can erase the person sin altogether. That person can get good friendship with him again. We really grateful that Jehovah always willing to forgive us.—Read Isaiah 55:6, 7.

4. Jehova ɣa ɓɔ de va ɣɛ le de su-ʋaa-yɛgi zu-wulo-zu wɛ̃ɛ?

4 Since the way Jehovah can forgive different from us, how it possible for us to understand what it really mean to forgive? Jehovah use good-good examples to help us understand what it mean to forgive. We will talk about some of them in this article. They will show us how Jehovah can forgive our sin, and how we can get good friendship with him again. When we talking about this example dem, we will be more grateful to our kind and merciful Father, who can forgive us plenty different-different ways.

JEHOVA ƔA DA ƲAA YOWŨI MAA WOOZA DE VA

5. Jehova ɣa de zu-ʋaa-yɛna zɛɓɛi ya ɣɛ?

5 Most of the time, the Bible can compare sin to heavy load. King David talk about his own sins like this: “My errors loom over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too much for me to bear.” (Ps. 38:4) But when somebody repent, Jehovah can forgive their sins. (Ps. 25:18; 32:5) The Hebrew word they translate “forgive” mean to “lift up” or “carry.” So when Jehovah forgive our sins, it just like he take heavy load from our head.

The hand taking the heavy load from the brother back.

“Pardoned” (Ps. 32:5)

6. Jehova ɣa da ʋaa yowũi maa wooza de va ɣɛ le?

6 The Bible gave another example to show how Jehovah can carry our sins far off from us. Psalm 103:12 say: “As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, so far off from us he has put our transgressions.” The place the sun can come from and the place the sun can go really far from each other. The two of them will never meet. That the same way Jehovah can take our sins and carry far off from us. This one encourage us that Jehovah can forgive our sins altogether!

The sun going down.

“As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset” (Ps. 103:12)

7. Zɛɓɛi Gala Kɔlɔi boga e vile nii va Jehova ɣa kɛ ga da ʋaa yowũitiɛ? (Micah 7:18, 19)

7 Even though Jehovah can carry our sins far off from us, you think he can continue thinking about them? No. Talking about Jehovah, King Hezekiah say: “You have thrown all my sins behind your back.” Or like the way the footnote say it, you na take all my sins from in front of you. (Isa. 38:9, 17; footnote.) This one mean that when somebody repent, Jehovah can throw their sins away and he can’t look at it again. It can also mean: You make [my sins] just like it never happen. The Bible also give another example to make the point more clear in Micah 7:18, 19. (Read.) This Bible verse say: Jehovah throw our sins way in the sea. Way back, when they throw something in the sea, it wor hard for somebody to go and take it from there.

Collage: 1. Jehovah throw the heavy load behind his heavenly throne. 2. The heavy load sinking way in the sea.

“You have thrown all my sins behind your back” (Isa. 38:17)

“You will throw all their sins into the depths of the sea” (Mic. 7:19)

8. Zɛɓɛi sa de maa wolia?

8 From the different-different example dem, we na learn that when Jehovah forgive our sin, it just like he take heavy load from on our head. That the reason why David say, “happy are those whose lawless deeds have been pardoned and whose sins have been covered; happy is the man whose sin Jehovah will by no means take into account.” (Rom. 4:6-8) Yes, we call this one true forgiveness!

JEHOVA ƔA DA ƲAA YOWŨITIƐ ƁALA DE MA

9. Zɛɓɛi Gala Kɔlɔi boga e vile Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛ fai va?

9 Jehovah use some other examples to help us understand how he can use the ransom to forgive the people who repent. He say he will wash and rinse their sins. This one will make the sinner clean. (Ps. 51:7; Isa. 4:4; Jer. 33:8) Just see how Jehovah say it will happen. He say: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be made as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson cloth, they will become like wool.” (Isa. 1:18) It can really be hard to move red mark from on clothes. But Jehovah use this example to convince us that he can wash our sin clean so that he can’t see it again.

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be made as white as snow” (Isa. 1:18)

10. Zɛɓɛi wɔnɔ Gala Kɔlɔi boga e vile Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛ fai va?

10 The first article compare sin to “debts.” (Matt. 6:12, footnote; Luke 11:4) So any time we sin against Jehovah, it just like we adding our debt up. That mean we owing him plenty! But when Jehovah forgive us, it just like he cancel all our debts that we owe him. When he forgive us, he can’t make us to pay for our sins again. That good example here to show how we can be happy when Jehovah forgive us!

“Forgive our sins” (Matt. 6:12)

11. Gala Kɔlɔi ɣa ɣɛɛna tiɛ da ʋaa yowũi “ɓala de ma tɛ-tɛ” su-wulo-zu ɣa ga zɛɓɛ? (Te Ɣɛɛ Ʋaitiɛ 3:19)

11 Jehovah can’t just cancel our debts or sins, he can blot them out. (Read Acts 3:19.) To understand this one good-good, think about the ink the people use to write with way back. It wor easy to erase. Somebody can just take wet sponge and wipe the writing. So when they “blot somebody debt out,” it mean they erase it altogether. It wor not even possible to see that writing again. It just like the person not write anything. We so grateful to know that when Jehovah forgive our sins, it just like it never even happen!—Ps. 51:9.

The hand using sponge to erase the writing from the piece of paper.

“So as to get your sins blotted out” (Acts 3:19)

12. Tinɛ ɓiligi Gala Kɔlɔi yɛpɛi e vile ba su-wulo-zu ɣa ga zɛɓɛ?

12 Jehovah use almost the same example to show how he can erase our sin. He say: “I will blot out your transgressions as with a cloud and your sins as with a thick cloud.” (Isa. 44:22) When Jehovah forgive us, it just like he using thick cloud to hide our sin so that people can’t see it again.

Thick clouds.

“I will blot out your transgressions as with a cloud” (Isa. 44:22)

13. Jehova ɣa de zu-ʋaa-yɛna maa nɛɛ de ɣi-gaa-ziɛ ɣɛ le?

13 Wetin this example dem teach us? It teach us that when Jehovah forgive our sins, we must not continue feeling guilty for the rest of our life. Jesus sacrifice cancel our sins altogether. It can be just like we never even commit that sin. That just what true forgiveness from Jehovah mean when we repent from our sins.

14. Zɛɓɛi e kɛɛ da la ga Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛgi? (Wɛlɛ ɓalaa footei va.)

14 True forgiveness from Jehovah can make us to get good friendship with him again. It can help us to not continue feeling guilty. We must not be scare that Jehovah still vex with us and looking for way to punish us. Jehovah will never do that one. When Jehovah say he forgive us, why we must trust him? Jehovah tell the prophet Jeremiah say: “I will forgive their error, and I will no longer remember their sin.” (Jer. 31:34) When the apostle Paul wor talking about this same thing he say, “I will no longer call their sins to mind.” (Heb. 8:12) But what it really mean?

The brother looking up in heaven.

“I will no longer remember their sin” (Jer. 31:34)

15. Gala Kɔlɔi ɣa ɣɛɛna tiɛ Jehova lɛ ɣi-zɛ ga da ʋaa yowũitiɛ zu su-wulo-zu ɣa ga zɛɓɛ?

15 In the Bible, the word “remember” not always mean thinking about something that happen before. But it also mean taking action. The criminal who wor hanging on the stake tell Jesus say: “Jesus, remember me when you get into your Kingdom.” (Luke 23:42, 43) He wor not just asking Jesus to think about him during that time. The answer Jesus gave show that he will take action to bring the criminal back to life. So when Jehovah say that he will not remember our sins, he mean that he will not take action against us. He will not punish us in the future for the sins that he na forgive.

16. Jehova ɣa de zu-ʋaa-yɛna da wulo su-nu-ma ɣɛ le?

16 The Bible use another example to help us understand how we can feel good when Jehovah forgive us. Because we not perfect, the Bible say we “slaves of sin.” But we want tell Jehovah thank you plenty for forgiving us, because we looking like slaves who he na “free from sin.” (Rom. 6:17, 18; Rev. 1:5) Yes, when we know that Jehovah na forgive us, we can really be happy just like when they free slave.

The hands na cut the handcuffs.

“You were set free from sin” (Rom. 6:18)

17. Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛgi ɣa de valo ɣɛ le? (Isaiah 53:5)

17 Read Isaiah 53:5. The last example we coming talk about compare us to people who get bad sickness. But Jehovah na heal us, because he gave his Son to die for us. (1 Pet. 2:24) When we sin, our friendship with Jehovah can spoil. But because Jesus die for us, Jehovah can forgive us and we can get close friendship with Him again. When somebody get better from their bad sickness, they can be happy. That the same way we can really be happy when Jehovah heal us from our spiritual sickness and make us to be friendly with him again.

18. Zɛɓɛi de maa wolia Gala Kɔlɔi zu e vile Jehova na su-ʋaa-yɛ fai va? (Wɛlɛ ɓalaa kologi nii va “How Jehovah Forgives Us.”)

18 Wetin we na learn from the different-different examples in the Bible about the way Jehovah can forgive? We na learn that when Jehovah forgive us, he can’t hold anything against us again. It can make us to get good friendship with our heavenly Father. At the same time, we must remember that true forgiveness that gift. Jehovah can give it to us because he kind, and he love us even though we sinners. It not something that we work for.—Rom. 3:24.

19. (a) Zɛɓɛi Loomɛitiɛ 4:8 boga ga de kɛ? (b) Zɛɓɛi de vaazu maa wolizu na wulu wɔlɔi zu?

19 Read Romans 4:8. Each of us must really be grateful that Jehovah that the God of “true forgiveness”! (Ps. 130:4) But if we want for Jehovah to forgive us, we must do one important thing. Jesus say: “If you not forgive people who sin against you, your Father will not forgive your sin too.” (Matt. 6:14, 15) So, it really important to follow Jehovah example and forgive other people. But how we can do it? The next article will show us how to do it.

GUI 46 We Thank You, Jehovah

a In the original Hebrew, they use the words “the forgiveness.” This one mean that the only true forgiveness, even though they get different-different way people can forgive. Plenty other Bible translations not make this important point clear. But the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures make it clear in Psalm 130:4. And that what make the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures different from other Bibles.
