MWINAMWAKE Yesu adakali kunyumba ya Zakeyu, kumene waimirira pa ulendo wake wopita ku Yerusalemu. Matalente ndiwo ndalama za siliva zamtengo wapatali, lirilonse limakwanira chifupifupi malipiro a miyezi itatu a wogwira ntchito pa fama. Koma kodi matelente amaimira chiyani? Ndipo ndi malonda a mtundu wanji amene akapolowo afunikira kuchita nawo?
Matalentewo amaimira zinthu zofunika zimene ophunzira obadwa ndi mzimu angagwiritsire ntchito kutulutsa oloŵa nyumba owonjezereka a Ufumu wakumwamba kufikira kudza kwa Yesu monga Mfumu mu Ufumu wolonjezedwawo. “Koma,” Yesu akupitiriza, “mfulu za pamudzi pake zinamuda [munthu wa fuko lomvekayo], nizituma akazembe amtsate m’mbuyo ndi kunena, Ife sitifuna munthuyu akhale mfumu yathu.” Mfulu za pamudzizo ndizo Aisrayeli, kapena Ayuda, kusaphatikizapo ophunzira ake. Pambuyo pa kunyamuka kwa Yesu kupita kumwamba, Ayuda amenewa mwakuzunza ophunzira ake anadziŵitsa kuti sanamfune iye kukhala mfumu yawo. Kodi akapolo khumiwo akugwiritsira ntchito motani matalente awo? Yesu akulongosola: “Ndipo kunali, pakubwera iye, atalandira ufumuwo, anati aitanidwe kwa iye akapolo aja, amene adawapatsa ndalamazo, kuti adziŵe umo anapindulira pochita malonda. Ndipo anafika woyamba, nanena, Mbuye ndalama yanu inachita niwonjeza ndalama khumi. Ndipo anati kwa iye, chabwino, kapolo wabwino iwe; popeza unakhala wokhulupirika m’chaching’onong’ono, khala nawo ulamuliro pa midzi khumi. Ndipo anadza wachiŵiri, nanena, Mbuye, ndalama yanu yapindula ndalama zisanu. Ndipo anati kwa iyenso, khala iwenso woweruza midzi isanu.”

“Ndipo,” Yesu akupitirizabe, “wina anadza, nanena, Mbuye, tawonani, siyi ndalama yanu, ndaisunga m’kansalu; pakuti ndinakuwopani, popeza inu ndinu munthu wowuma mtima: Munyamula chimene simunachiika pansi, mututa chimene simunachifesa. Ananena kwa iye, pakamwa pako ndikuweruza, kapolo woipa iwe. Unadziŵa kuti ine ndine munthu wowuma mtima, wonyamula chimene sindinachiika, ndi wotuta chimene sindinachifesa; ndipo sunapereka bwanji ndalama yanga pokongoletsa, ndipo ine pakudza ndikadaitenga ndi phindu lake? Ndipo anati kwa iwo akuimirirapo, mchotsereni ndalamayo, nimuipatse kwa iye wakukhala nazo ndalama khumi.”
Kutayikiridwa talente lophiphiritsiralo kumatanthauza kutayikiridwa malo mu Ufumu wakumwamba kwa kapolo woipayo. Inde, iye watayikiridwa mwaŵi wa kulamulira, kunena kwake titero, pa mizinda khumi kapena isanu. Tawonaninso, kuti kapoloyo sakutchedwa woipa chifukwa cha kuchita choipa chirichonse koma, m’malomwake, chifukwa cha kulephera kugwira ntchito kuti awonjezere chuma cha ufumu wa mbuye wake.
Pamene talente la kapolo woipayo lipatsidwa kwa kapolo woyambirira, chitsutso chikuperekedwa: “Mbuye, ali nazo ndalama khumi.” Komabe, Yesu akuyankha kuti: “Kwa yense wakukhala nacho kudzapatsidwa; koma kwa iye amene alibe kanthu, chingakhale chimene ali nacho chidzachotsedwa.
