19 After, Na′hash wey be the king of Am′mon people die, and im son start to rule as king after-am. 2 Because of that one, David talk say: “I go show love wey no de fail to Ha′nun the son of Na′hash, because im papa show love wey no de fail to me.” So David send messengers to go make im mind come down as im papa don die. But when David servants enter the land of Am′mon people to make the mind of Ha′nun come down, 3 the leaders of Am′mon people tell Ha′nun say: “You think say na because David want honor your papa na im make-am send people to come make your mind come down? No be to check everywhere well and to know how things be for the land so that e go comot you as king, na im make im servants come meet you?” 4 So Ha′nun hold the servants of David and shave their beard-beard and e tear their cloths into two for their buttocks and send them comot. 5 When them tell David about the men, quick-quick, e send other people go meet them because them don disgrace the men no be small, and the king tell them say: “Make una stay for Jer′i·cho until una beard-beard don grow back, and then, make una come back.”

Then, them come and set camp for front of Med′e·ba. Am′mon people gather together from their cities and come out for the war.
8 When David hear-am, e send Jo′ab and im whole army together with im soldiers wey strong pass. 9 Am′mon people comot and arrange theirself for the gate of the city to go fight war, and the kings wey come help them dey for different place for the open field.
10 When Jo′ab see say the people wey de come fight-am de come from front and back, e choose some of the best soldiers for Israel and e arrange them to go fight Syria people. 11 E put the rest of the men under the command* of im brother A·bish′ai, so that e go arrange them to go fight Am′mon people. 12 Then e talk say: “If Syria people too strong for me, then you must come save me, but if Am′mon people too strong for you, I go save you. 13 We must dey strong and get strong heart for our people and for the cities of our God, and Jehovah go do wetin good for im eyes.”
14 Then Jo′ab and im men go meet Syria people to fight them, and them run from-am. 15 When Am′mon people see say Syria people don run, them too run from im brother A·bish′ai and enter the city. After that one, Jo′ab come Jerusalem.
16 When Syria people see say Israel people don win them, them send messengers say make them go call Syria people come, the ones wey dey the area wey the River* dey, and na Sho′phach wey de control Had·ad·e′zer army lead them.
17 When them tell David about-am, quick-quick, e gather all Israel people and cross River Jordan come meet them and arrange im soldiers to fight against them. David arrange im soldiers to meet Syria people, and them fight against-am. 18 But Syria people run from Israel people; and David kill 7,000 people wey de ride chariots and 40,000 Syria soldiers wey de use leg waka, and e kill Sho′phach wey de control the army. 19 When the servants of Had·ad·e′zer see say Israel people don win them, quick-quick, them make peace with David and come be im slaves; and Syria people no want help Am′mon people again.
