The First Book of Chronicles
23 When David don old, and e don near the end of im life, e make im son Sol′o·mon king to rule Israel. 2 Then e gather all the leaders for Israel, the priests, and the Levites. 3 Them count the Levites wey dey from 30 years go up. 6 Then David arrange* them put for different-different group, and each group come from the sons of Le′vi wey be: Ger′shon, Ko′hath, and Me·rar′i. 7 The people wey come from the family of Ger′shon na La′dan and Shim′e·i. 8 The sons of La′dan na Je·hi′el wey be the leader, Ze′tham, and Joel, them be three. 9 The sons of Shim′e·i na She·lo′moth, Ha′zi·el, and Ha′ran, them be three. Na this people be the heads of the family groups from their papa side wey La′dan get. 10 And the sons of Shim′e·i na Ja′hath, Zi′na, Je′ush, and Be·ri′ah. Na this four people be the sons of Shim′e·i. 11 Na Ja′hath be their leader, the second person na Zi′zah. But because say Je′ush and Be·ri′ah no get plenty sons, them join them together as one family group from their papa side, and na one work them give them.
12 The sons of Ko′hath na Am′ram, Iz′har, Heb′ron, and Uz′zi·el, them be four. 13 The sons of Am′ram na Aaron and Moses. But them choose Aaron for the permanent work wey e go do, wey be, to make the Most Holy Room clean, im and im sons, to do sacrifice them for Jehovah front, to work for-am, and to always use im name bless people. 14 As for Moses, wey be man of the true God, them count im sons as part of the tribe of Levites. 15 The sons of Moses na Ger′shom and E·li·e′zer. 16 The person wey come from among the sons of Ger′shom na Sheb′u·el, wey be the leader. 17 The person wey come from among the children-children* of E·li·e′zer, na Re·ha·bi′ah wey be the leader; E·li·e′zer no get other sons, but the sons of Re·ha·bi′ah plenty well-well. 18 From among the sons of Iz′har, na She·lo′mith be the leader. 19 The sons of Heb′ron na Je·ri′ah wey be the leader, Am·a·ri′ah wey be the second person, Ja·ha·zi′el the third person, and Jek·a·me′am the fourth person. 20 The sons of Uz′zi·el na Mi′cah wey be the leader and Is·shi′ah wey be the second person.
21 The sons of Me·rar′i na Mah′li and Mu′shi. The sons of Mah′li na El·e·a′zar and Kish. 22 El·e·a′zar come die, but e no get sons, na only daughters, so the sons of Kish wey be their family people* marry them. 23 The sons of Mu′shi na Mah′li, E′der, and Jer′e·moth, them be three.
24 Na this people be the sons of Le′vi. Them register their names according to the family groups wey them come from for their papa side, according to the names of the leaders of their family groups for their papa side. Them count each person and write im name, and the people wey them write their names na from 20 years go up. Na them de do the work for Jehovah house. 25 Because David be don talk say: “Jehovah the God of Israel don make im people rest from their enemies, and e go stay for Jerusalem forever. 26 Another thing be say, the Levites no go need to carry the tabernacle or any of the things wey them go use work inside-am.” 27 Because, just as David talk say make them do for the last thing wey e command them, them count the Levites wey dey from 20 years go up. 28 Their work na to help the sons of Aaron for the work wey them de do for Jehovah house, to dey in charge of the compounds, the dining rooms, to make every holy thing clean, and to do any work wey them need to do for the house of the true God. 29 Na them de help to prepare the layer bread, the better flour wey them de use do grain offering, bread wey no get yeast wey them make flat, cake wey them use flat pan make, flour wey them mix, and everything wey them de measure how e plenty reach or big reach. 30 Them de stand every morning to thank and praise Jehovah and na so them de do for evening too. 31 Them de help anytime wey them de do sacrifice wey them de burn to Jehovah, whether na for Sabbath days, for time of new moon, and when them de do the different-different festivals, according to the number wey them write for the law about them. Them de do like that for Jehovah front everytime. 32 Them still de do the work wey them give them for the tent of meeting, for the holy place, and them de help their brothers wey be the sons of Aaron for the work of the house of Jehovah.
