FINE-FINE LESSON FROM BIBLE | LUKE 17-18

“De Talk Thank You”

(Luke 17:11-14) As Jesus de go Jerusalem, e pass the road wey dey between Sa·marʹi·a and Galʹi·lee. 12 And as e enter one village, ten men with leprosy see Jesus, but they stand for far place. 13 They start de shout and de talk say: “Jesus, Teacher, feel for us!” 14 As e see them, e tell them say: “Make wuna go show wuna self to priest.” So as them de go, their leprosy finish.

nwtsty note for Lu 17:12, 14

ten men with leprosy: For Bible time, people with leprosy dey gather together or dey live together as group so that they fit help theirself. (2Ki 7:3-5) The Law wey God give Israel people talk say make people with leprosy no de live with people wey no get leprosy. When person with leprosy de come, e must warn people say e de come. E must shout say: “I no clean, I no clean!” (Le 13:45, 46) Because of the Law, this people with leprosy stand far from Jesus.—Check study note for Mt 8:2 and Glossary, “Leprosy; Leper.”

Make wuna go show wuna self to priest: When Jesus be dey this earth, e dey under the Law and e know say the arrangement of the Aaronic priesthood still de work. So e tell the people with leprosy say make they go see the priest as e don cure them. (Mt 8:4; Mr 1:44) As the Law talk, na priest go check if the leprosy don finish from their body. So the person go then go temple and do the sacrifice wey the Law talk.—Le 14:2-32.

(Luke 17:15, 16) When one of them see say the leprosy don finish, e go back and start de thank God with loud voice. 16 And e bow down for Jesus and de thank-am. Even self na Samaria person.

(Luke 17:17, 18) Jesus talk say: “Na all the ten people heal, no be so? So where the other nine? 18 So, no other person come back and thank God except this man from another nation?”

w08 8/1 14-15 ¶8-9

Why E Good to Talk Thank You?

Wetin Jesus do when the other nine no show say they thank God for the thing wey happen? Jesus talk say: ‘Na all the ten people heal, no be so? So where the other nine? So, no other person come back and thank God except this man from another nation?’ ”—Luke 17:17, 18.

This one no mean say the other nine people bad. They don first show say they get faith, they do the thing wey Jesus tell them, na e make they travel go Jerusalem, make priest check them. Even though say they value the thing wey Jesus do for them, they no come thank-am as e heal them. Jesus no glad for this kind thing wey they do. What about us? When people do good for us we de remember thank them? Or even make small greeting card for them to say “thank you”?

Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible

(Luke 17:7-10) “Which person among wuna wey e slave de use plow work for farm or wey de care for sheep and when the slave come back from farm e go talk say, ‘Come quick-quick and sitdown make you chop?’ 8 But e go tell the slave say, prepare something for me, wear your apron and serve me until I chop and drink finish, then after you go chop and drink.’ 9 E no go thank the slave because e do the work wey they say make e do, e go thank-am? 10 Na so e still be, when wuna don do all the things wey they say make wuna do, make wuna talk say: ‘We be useless slaves. The things wey we don do na the things wey we suppose do.’”

nwtsty study note for Lu 17:10

useless slaves: For this story, Jesus no mean say the slaves, wey be e disciples go de feel say they useless. The things wey Jesus talk show say the disciples go know their boundary, say make they no expect special praise. Some scholars talk say the thing wey Jesus talk for here show say the disciples no suppose feel say them dey special.

(Luke 18:8) I tell you, quick-quick e go make sure say they judge the case well. But, when the Son of man come, e go really see this kind faith for this earth?”

nwtsty study note for Lu 18:8

this kind faith: Or “this faith.” Lit., “the faith.” For Greek language, when they use “the” before “faith,” e mean say Jesus de talk about one particular kind of faith, the type wey Jesus talk about for the story about the woman. (Lu 18:1-8) This kind faith na, to get faith when we pray, and to get faith say God go give e people justice. When Jesus ask this question, e no answer-am because e want make e disciples think about faith. This story about prayer and faith dey important because Jesus don talk about the test of faith wey e disciples go face.—Lu 17:22-37.

FINE-FINE LESSON FROM BIBLE| LUKE 19-20

“Learn From the Story About the Ten Mina”

(Luke 19:12, 13) E talk say: “One man from king family travel go far place so that e go be king and come back.13 E call ten of e slave, and e give them ten mina and tell them say, ‘Make wuna do business with-am until I come back.’

jy 232 ¶2-4

The Story About Ten Mina

E talk say: “One man from king family travel go far place make e go receive power as king and come back.” (Luke 19:12) This kind journey de take time. Jesus na the “man from king family” wey “travel go far place,” wey be heaven, where e go receive power as king from e Father.

For the story, before the “man from king family” travel, e call e ten slave and e give all of them one-one silver mina, and tell them say: “Make wuna do business with-am until I come back.” (Luke 19:13) Silver mina na money wey really get value. One mina na money wey person wey de work for farm go get if e work for about three months.

The disciples of Jesus fit de think say na them be the ten slave for this story, since Jesus don already compare them with people wey de harvest. (Matthew 9:35-38) Even so, e no tell them say make they bring things wey they harvest. But, e de talk about how they go gather other disciples wey go dey part of the Kingdom of God. This disciples go use everything wey they get help more people enter the Kingdom of God.

(Luke 19:16-19) So the first one come and e say, ‘Lord, your mina gain ten mina.’ 17 Then the king talk say, ‘You do well, good slave! Because you show say they fit trust you for small thing, make you de control ten city.’ 18 Now the second one come, and e talk say, ‘Lord, your mina don gain five mina.’ 19 E still tell this one say, ‘You too, make you de control five city.’

jy 232 ¶7

The Story About Ten Mina

If the disciples feel say they be like the slaves wey use all wetin they get make more disciples, they go dey sure say Jesus de happy with them. And they go know say e go bless them for their fine work. No be all the disciples of Jesus get the same situation for life or the same opportunity or power. But Jesus “wey be King,” go know and go bless e disciple for their fine work as them de preach the good news.—Matthew 28:19, 20.

(Luke 19:20-24) But another one come, and e talk say, ‘Lord, na your mina be this, I hide-am for cloth. 21 I be de fear you, because you wicked; you de take wetin you no keep, and you de harvest for place wey you no plant.’ 22 The king talk say, ‘Wicked slave! Na the thing wey you talk I go use judge you. You know, no be so, say I de take wetin I no keep, and I de harvest for place wey I no plant? 23 So why you no put my money for bank? So that when I come back, I go get interest.’ 24 “Then e tell people wey stand for there say, ‘Make wuna take the mina and give the person wey e get ten.’

jy 233 ¶1

The Story About Ten Mina

The slave loss everything because e no gree work for e master so that the riches for the kingdom go de plenty more-more. As the apostles de wait for the time wey Jesus go de rule as King for the Kingdom of God, they go learn from the story say, if they do like the last slave, they no go enter that Kingdom.

Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible

(Luke 19:43) Because the days go come for you when your enemy them go use strong-strong stick wey dey sharp build fence around you and they surround you and attack you from all corner.

nwtsty study note for Lu 19:43

use strong-strong stick wey dey sharp, build fence: The Greek word wey they use for here na khaʹrax and na only for here the word dey for Christian Greek Scriptures. They don explain-am say na “sharp stick wey they use fence one area,” or “place wey they use stick fence where soldiers go dey.” The thing wey Jesus talk happen for 70 C.E. when General Titus use Roman soldiers build strong fence, round Jerusalem. Titus get three reason why e do-am. (1) So that Jew people no go run, (2) make them surrender, and (3) make hungry hold them so that they no go dey stubborn again. So to build the strong fence, Roman soldiers cut down all tree around Jerusalem.

(Luke 20:38) E no be God of people wey don die, but na God for people wey dey alive. So for e mind all of them dey alive.”

nwtsty study note on Lu 20:38

So for e mind all of them dey alive: Or “e de see them as people wey still dey alive.” Bible show say people wey no de worship Jehovah don already die for e eye even though say they still dey alive. (Eph 2:1; 1Ti 5:6) Na so too, people wey de serve Jehovah, even though they die, they still dey alive for Jehovah, since e must resurrect them as e promise.—Ro 4:16, 17.

FINE-FINE LESSON FROM BIBLE | LUKE 21-22

“Time Don Near Wey God Go Save Wuna”

(Luke 21:25) “And signs go still dey for sun and moon and stars, and for this earth, nations go get problem but they no go know how they go solve-am because the sea go de shake and de make noise.

kr 226 ¶9

The Kingdom of God Go Remove E Enemy

The thing wey go de happen for heaven. Jesus talk say: “Sun go dark, and moon no go shine, and stars go fall from heaven.” Then people no go fit learn anything from people wey de lead religion. They no go see them like people wey they fit learn from. Na strange things wey go happen for heaven Jesus de talk about? E fit be so. (Isa. 13:9-11; Joel 2:1, 30, 31) Wetin people go do when they see this things? They go de worry but they “no go know how they go solve-am.” (Luke 21:25; Zeph. 1:17) Yes, ‘fear go really catch enemy of God Kingdom—from ‘king to slave’—because of the things wey e go happen for them’ and they go run hide. But, they no go get any place for hide wey they go free from the anger of our King.—Luke 21:26; 23:30; Rev. 6:15-17.

(Luke 21:26) People go faint because of fear and because of the things wey them de expect to happen for this earth. The powers for heaven go shake.

(Luke 21:27, 28) And they go see the Son of man wey e de come down inside cloud with power and great glory. 28 But as this things start to happen, make wuna stand up straight and raise wuna head because time don near wey God go save wuna.”

w16.01 10-11 ¶17

Prepare Your Heart “Make the Love Wey You Get for the Brothers Continue”!

“Get strong heart.”(Read Hebrews 13:6.) If we trust Jehovah we go get strong heart and this one go help us face any problem. Na this strong heart go help make we de see things for correct way. Love wey we get for our brothers and the correct way we de see things go help us remain strong and de comfort our brothers and sisters. (1 Thess. 5:14, 15) Even when people for the world go de face hard times for the great tribulation, we go fit “stand up straight and raise [our] head,” because time don near wey God go save us.—Luke 21:25-28.

w15 7/15 17-18 ¶13

“Time Wey They Go Save Wuna Don Near”!

How people wey Bible call goat go behave when they don know say God go destroy all of them? They “go suffer pain.” (Matt. 24:30) But wetin the anointed and the other sheep go do? They go put all their faith for Jehovah God and e Son, Jesus Christ and they go do wetin Jesus talk: “But as this things start de happen, make wuna stand up straight and raise wuna head because time don near wey God go save wuna.” (Luke 21:28) And we go de see things with better mind and dey sure say we go save.

Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible

(Luke 21:33) Heaven and earth go pass, but my word go remain forever.

nwtsty study note for Lu 21:33

Heaven and earth go pass: Other verse for Bible show say heaven and earth go remain forever. (Ge 9:16; Ps 104:5; Ec 1:4) So wetin Jesus de talk show say if at all something extraordinary happen, then heaven and earth pass, the things wey e talk go still happen. (Compare Mt 5:18.) But the heaven and earth wey Jesus de talk for here fit mean the heaven and earth wey Bible call “old heaven and the old earth” for Re 21:1.

my word go remain forever. Or “my word must remain forever.” The way they use Greek write this place show say wetin Jesus talk must happen.

(Luke 22:28-30) “But, na wuna dey with me when I de face trials. 29 And I make agreement with wuna, just as my Father don make agreement with me, say e go give me the kingdom, 30 so that wuna go fit chop and drink for my table, for my Kingdom, and wuna go sitdown for thrones judge the 12 tribe of Israel.

w14 10/15 16 -17 ¶15-16

Wuna Go Be “Kingdom of Priests”

After Jesus do the first Lord Evening Meal, e make one agreement with e apostles. This agreement na the Kingdom covenant. (Read Luke 22:28-30.) This agreement no be like the ones wey Jehovah don make with people. But this agreement na between Jesus and the anointed disciples. When Jesus de talk say “just as my Father don make agreement with me,” e clear say e de talk about the agreement wey Jehovah make with-am, say e go be priest forever like Melchizedek.—Heb. 5:5, 6.

The 11 faithful apostles don ‘dey with Jesus when e de face trials.’ The Kingdom covenant give them hope say they go be with Jesus for heaven, and they go sitdown for throne rule as king and priest. But no be only them go be king and priest. When Jesus appear to apostle John for vision, e talk say: “Anybody wey win, go sitdown with me for my throne, just as I don win and I sitdown with my Father for e throne.” (Rev. 3:21) So, Jesus make the Kingdom covenant with the 144,000 anointed Christians. (Rev. 5:9, 10; 7:4) Na this covenant go give them the right to rule with Jesus for heaven. E just be like when woman wey come from rich family, marry King. E go still get power because e marry king. Bible talk say anointed Christians be like wife to Jesus. They be like virgin wey Christ want marry.—Rev. 19:7, 8; 21:9; 2 Cor. 11:2.

FINE-FINE LESSON FROM BIBLE | LUKE 23-24

“Prepare Your Heart to Forgive”

(Luke 23:34) But Jesus de talk say: “Father, forgive them because they no know wetin them de do.” But they play gamble for e cloth.

cl 297 ¶16

“Know the Kind Love Wey Christ Get”

Jesus really imitate e Father for another fine way—e “ready to forgive.” (Psalm 86:5) When they nail Jesus for torture stake e still show say e “ready to forgive.” Even with all the suffer wey e dey, wetin e still de think about? E no beg e Father make e kill the people, but e beg e Father say: “Father, forgive them because they no know wetin them de do.”—Luke 23:34.

(Luke 23:43) E tell the man say: “True-true I de tell you today say, you go dey with me for Paradise.”

g 2/08 11 ¶5-6

God De Forgive Serious Sin?

No be only the sin Jehovah de see, e still de see the heart of the person. (Isaiah 1:16-19) Think about the two bad men wey they kill with Jesus. Even one of them talk by e self say they be criminals, e talk say: “We de receive pay for the things wey we do, but this man [Jesus] no do any bad.” The thing wey this man talk show say e know Jesus. E fit even be say na the things wey e know about Jesus help the man repent. This one show for the thing wey e tell Jesus. E beg Jesus say: “Jesus, remember me when you reach your Kingdom.” But wetin Jesus do? Jesus tell the man say: “True-true I de tell you today say, you go dey with me for Paradise.”—Luke 23:41-43.

Just imagine: For Jesus final statement, e show say e ready to forgive, even the criminal wey they kill with-am. This one de really give us strong heart! With this one, we dey sure say no matter the sin wey we commit, Jesus Christ and e Father, Jehovah, go forgive us if we really repent with all our heart.—Romans 4:7.

(Luke 24:34) they talk say: “The Lord resurrect and e appear to Simon!”

cl 297-298 ¶17-18

“Know the Kind Love Wey Christ Get”

Another fine example wey show how Jesus de forgive na the way e forgive apostle Peter. Na true say Peter really love Jesus, so for the night of Nisan 14, Peter tell Jesus say: “Lord, I ready to follow you go any place, even prison and die with you.” but after some hour, Peter deny Jesus three times! Bible talk wetin happen the third time, e say: “Then the Lord turn and look Peter.” Peter no happy say e deny Jesus, na e make Peter “go outside and e cry well.” After Jesus die that day, Peter fit de ask e self say, ‘I sure say my Lord forgive me?’—Luke 22:33, 61, 62.

Peter no wait long before e get answer for e question. Jesus come back to life for morning of Nisan 16, and e visit Peter the same day. (Luke 24:34; 1 Corinthians 15:4-8) Why Jesus make sure say e visit Peter wey deny e three times? E fit be say Jesus want make Peter know say e still love and value Peter as e don repent. Jesus even do pass this one.

Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible

(Luke 23:31) If they do this things when the tree dey fresh, wetin go happen when e don die?”

nwtsty study note for Lu 23:31

when the tree dey fresh, . . . when e don die: E fit be say Jesus de talk about the nation of Jew people. That nation be like tree wey de die small-small. E never die finish because Jesus and other Jew people wey get faith for Jesus, still dey alive. Small time, they go kill Jesus and God go anoint Jew people wey serve Jehovah well and they go be part of spiritual Israel. (Ro 2:28, 29; Ga 6:16) Then the nation of Israel no go be God people again, e go be like tree wey don die.—Mt 21:43.

(Luke 23:33) And when they reach the place wey they call Skull, they nail-am for stake with two bad men, one for e right and one for e left.

Nail Wey Dey One Heel Bone

This one na picture of person heel bone wey they mold. They chuk-am with iron nail wey long reach 11.5 cm (4.5 in.). They see the original copy for 1968 when them de dig for north side of Jerusalem. E resemble the one wey they be bury since the time of Rome people. E show say that time, if they want kill person they fit nail the person for stake. They see this bone for one box wey they use stone make-am, the name na ossuary. Na for there them de put people dry bone after they don die. This one mean say if they kill person for stake, they fit still bury the person.
